The National Award “Golden Mercury” of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in the area of Entrepreneurship was established in 2002.
The Award's slogan is: ”For the Good of the Russian Nation!”
This principle business award in Russia is to:
- promote dynamic development of the Russian economy;
- demonstrate the best of domestic business models;
- promote ideas of the social-responsible business;
- strengthen positions of Russian entrepreneurship;
- form the society's attitude of respect of business.
The competition is a major component of the Federal programme of the state support of small businesses and is held by the RF CCI with the support of the RF Federation Council and the RF Ministry of Regional Development.
“Golden Mercury” is Russia's only competition for the Russian companies that is officially registered and patented according to law. Unlike most business award competitions, this competition is held on a grant basis as the companies and enterprises do not pay for their participation and are freed from extra expert survey fees.
The winners are elected by the National Council of Experts of representatives of the federal legislature and the executive, the RF CCI, entrepreneurial associations and unions and territorial chambers of commerce and industry.
The winners are presented with diplomas of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, exclusive figures of “Golden Mercury” and commemorative medals. They are also entitled to use the competition logo to mark their products.
The competition's events and the award-presentation ceremony are covered by a wide range of federal and regional media.
Every year the number of contestant grows raising its profile and significance for the business community, as the winners are given a unique opportunity to become members of the elite of Russian entrepreneurship, getting new prospects for the development of their businesses for the prosperity of Russia.
